What's on this map

This map shows Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Samoa, Tonga and more. Every region is a separate shape: tap to color it, or download the blank file as it is.

  • Oceania has 14 sovereign countries, but most are small island nations spread across the Pacific. Tuvalu, Nauru, Kiribati and the Marshall Islands are too small to draw at this scale; add a pin for them with the Labels tab.
  • Australia makes up about 90% of Oceania's land area.
  • New Guinea is shared between Papua New Guinea and Indonesia.

How to make your own Oceania map

  1. Paint. Pick a color under "Paint with" and tap regions. Tap again to clear. Rename each color to build the legend.
  2. Label. Turn on names or codes, or drop text labels and pins anywhere on the map.
  3. Color from data. Paste a list of names and numbers in the Data tab for an instant shaded map.
  4. Export. PNG for slides, SVG for editing, or print to paper or PDF. Your work autosaves in this browser.

Good uses

Questions

Is Australia a continent or part of Oceania?

Both, depending on the convention. Australia is a continent (often called Sahul or Australia–New Guinea when including New Guinea), and Oceania is the wider region including the Pacific islands.

Is this blank map of Oceania free to print?

Yes. Download the PNG, SVG or print it straight from the browser. There is no account, no watermark over the map and no limit. A small "mapeditor.io" credit sits in the corner of exports.

Can I edit the SVG in other software?

Yes. Every region is a separate, named path, so you can recolor it in Illustrator, Inkscape, Figma, Affinity Designer, PowerPoint or Google Slides.
