How to play

The quiz covers about 45 European countries in random order. Tap the right country: green means first try, yellow means found on a retry, red means missed. Use + or pinch to zoom into crowded areas.

Tips

  • Learn the Baltics north to south: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania ("E-L-L" like the alphabet).
  • The Balkans are the hardest: zoom in and anchor on Serbia, which borders eight countries.
  • Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, Andorra and Monaco are tiny: zoom in before tapping.

Practise on paper

Print the blank map (PDF) and fill it in by hand, then check against the labelled map. Or make your own worksheet in the editable map.

Questions

How is the quiz scored?

Only a first-try answer counts as correct. After two misses you get a hint (two neighbours); after three the answer is shown in red. Your best percentage is saved in this browser only.

How many countries are in the Europe quiz?

All sovereign European countries drawn on the map, including transcontinental Russia and Turkey and Kosovo. Vatican City and San Marino are too small to click at this scale.

Which European countries do people miss most?

Typically North Macedonia, Montenegro, Moldova, Slovenia vs Slovakia, and the micro-states.
