What's on this map

This map shows around 45 European countries, including micro-states like Andorra, Monaco and Liechtenstein. Every region is a separate shape: tap to color it, or download the blank file as it is.

  • Europe has no single agreed eastern border. This map is framed on the common convention of the Ural Mountains, the Caspian and the Caucasus, and shows Russia, Turkey, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
  • Micro-states such as Monaco, Liechtenstein, Andorra and Malta are tiny at this scale. Find them with the search box, which zooms to them and paints them in one tap. Vatican City and San Marino are too small to draw, so mark them with a pin from the Labels tab.
  • Neighboring areas of Africa and Asia are drawn in grey for context; they aren't counted or clickable.

How to make your own Europe map

  1. Paint. Pick a color under "Paint with" and tap regions. Tap again to clear. Rename each color to build the legend.
  2. Label. Turn on names or codes, or drop text labels and pins anywhere on the map.
  3. Color from data. Paste a list of names and numbers in the Data tab for an instant shaded map.
  4. Export. PNG for slides, SVG for editing, or print to paper or PDF. Your work autosaves in this browser.

Questions

How many countries are in Europe?

It depends on the definition. Most counts give 44 to 46 sovereign states. The UN geoscheme lists 44; adding transcontinental countries such as Turkey, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Cyprus raises the number.

Can I make an EU map with this?

Yes: paint the 27 EU members one color, or type "EU members and candidates" in the Ask AI tab and check the result.

Is this blank map of Europe free to print?

Yes. Download the PNG, SVG or print it straight from the browser. There is no account, no watermark over the map and no limit. A small "mapeditor.io" credit sits in the corner of exports.

Can I edit the SVG in other software?

Yes. Every region is a separate, named path, so you can recolor it in Illustrator, Inkscape, Figma, Affinity Designer, PowerPoint or Google Slides.
